Service Project: The joy that you are able to bring to people measures more than any dollar value.

“The wise man does not lay up his own treasures.
The more he gives to others,
the more he has for his own.”
― Lao Tzu
For my service project I helped the veterans. I visited veteran village on many occasions, but tried to make it better than it was. From bringing dirt cups to a fire pit for s’mores, the experience has changed me. Technically my service project was bringing a Christmas gift to a veteran. My gift box included a pair of slippers, a thermal shirt, and a pair of pajama pants. As the weather is getting colder, the items that I provided will come in handy, especially those fuzzy slippers. Through this project, my educational wisdom has grown. This program was shown that going to college is more than just learning things. Rather, the experience is meant to explore ones character and examine how one will be in the real world. Through this program I have learned that money isn’t everything. The joy that you are able to bring to people measures more than any dollar value. I hope that throughout this I impacted at least one veteran. They have shown me values that I never quite understood, and for that I can never repay them.
