AMH 2020 Summer Exam #1 Images

10 of these will be on your exam @ 10 points each.

1) Correctly identify, explain and describe the story being told in the image (5 points)
2) Discuss significance of the specific story in the context larger historical events  (5 points)
Exam #1 will be open June 3 through June 10 and will have 2 parts: Multiple choice from the chapter quizzes and 10 "picture stories" from the chapters.
I have posted 13 key images and 10 of them will be on your exam. I am open to using images not posted here -- if you have a key image, map etc that you think should be one of the 10 on the test, please post it.
Your main job in the discussion board post is to actively contribute to a discussion where we are piecing together the stories in the pictures using the textbook and other sources like google image search. I know that sounds messy to some of you, but putting together history stories is messy beautiful creative work, and the more fun you have telling and creating and reading interesting stories about these images,   the more information you will remember on the exam.
HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF A POST. Notice it is not a perfect complete essay answer, it doesn't have to be*
  • IMAGE #13 "Street Arabs" by xxxx, really captures my attention because the idea of three kids alone sleeping on the streets makes me imagine an America I never considered before. We are raised to believe anyone can become rich in America, and most pictures before 1900 seem to be bragging pictures showing how rich people are etc, but this image makes poverty real. An important book of images related to this is "How the Other Half Lives" by Jacob Riis. This was during a time of big immigration and also the progressive era, a time when people like Jane Addams tried to help the poor with Settlement Houses.
IMAGE #1: WHERE IS THIS? WHEN? WHAT DOES IT SHOW? WHAT OTHER EVENTS IN HISTORY DOES IT CONNECT TO?
