For my
service project I signed up for the Veterans Village Dinner to make a side dish.
When I signed up for the dinner I was super excited to make my favorite, mac
and cheese. This service project allowed me to give back to my fellow
community. Any chance I get to help others that’s in need I take advantage of
it. I know that everyone isn't perfect and with life there come gifts and
opportunity. Since God gave me the ability to be in the position that I'm in
today I feel like there's no other choice but to give back to others that’s
just like myself.
My major is
criminal justice, in the future I would like a job in the criminal justice
field that help individuals get in a better position than they were yesterday.
I believe It's never about your past decisions that you've made. To have a less
stressful life you have to keep your focus on the future and how you can make
the world a better place. We all have life stories and situations that made us
who we are today. Everything happens for a reason, we can let it halt us or we
can keep pushing forward and keep having faith in yourself and the people that
you love.
Coming to
the Veterans Village I had a good feeling. Being around people that's
appreciative, good spirited, and kind-hearted was the best part of my night.
Although I've never met any of the people there it felt like they were all family.
Seeing how they were all well-mannered, nice and they love all the food, drinks
and deserts was a mission complete to my heart.
I'm sure
ALL of the Veterans Dinners throughout the semester impacted the community and
veterans in such a great way. I know
that every single one of the men and women at the veteran village appreciate
everything that Professor Soldani and her students does for them.
I also want
to give thanks to Professor Soldani for her kind heart and service to the
community. This was my first service project at TCC and I wouldn’t have wanted
to complete this assignment with any other professor. This project helped me
realize that giving back is more than it seems when you actually, do it. It
only takes one time to make a little difference in our community. This service
project should be required in every class because I feel like it will help us
learn core values about life. Getting to know others for who they are and
accepting that we all deserve happiness and help when needed.
