yourself, the other for helping others.” - Audrey Hepburn. This is really more
than just a quote to me. This quote is true for so many things within each and
every one of our lives. If you are always doing things to better yourself and
focus on YOU and accomplishing YOUR dreams than what truly is life. You may have
a lot of success in life but If you don’t have a healthy balance you will never
be happy. There are people in life that have no money but still take time out
of there day to serve and do things for others cause that what’s important to
them.
For my service project, I went out and bought things for the Veterans for
Christmas. Some of these veterans would maybe not even get a single item for
Christmas if it wasn’t for our class. Something that is very important to me is
I believe deeply in the fact that no one is too good to serve in any way.
I am
a Christian and so I know and believe from reading the bible that Jesus was the
most perfect being to ever walk this earth and even he served. He didn’t ever
think he was too good to serve so in my opinion if he served everyone should
serve no one no matter where you are from or your background.
I hope that the
veteran who receives my items will be able to take them and put them to good
use. I also hope that he really enjoys them and sees that there is someone out
there that cares about him and that believes that there is something more
important in life than just themselves. I will continue to serve till the day I
die as for service is one of the best things for the soul. And I believe the
soul yearns for something greater than just itself, a greater cause.
