“To give real service you must add something
which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and
integrity.” This is a uncommon and meaningful experience for me to service
American veterans because I am an international student. I joined twice veteran’s
dinner service, in the first time, I really do not know how to do and nor
prepare anything. But in the second time, I signed appointment of dinner
service early and plan to cooking by myself. I learn how to use toasters and
try to cook the roasted chicken wings. On October 26 dinner, I brought my
chicken wings and share them to all veterans. I had a busy and happy day. This
is experience not like donation for charities, but is a service of myself for
the society. It makes more deeper meaning for myself, which is servicing others
need more sincerity rather than only money. I hope veterans could enjoy the
dinner and feel happy with our service. Although they do not know who we are,
we just hope they can feel warmth from the society.
